ELBERT WELLS Obituary
Elbert George Wells III passed away of natural causes on July 26, 2017. He was born in Mexicali, Sonora on July 13, 1954 to Elbert George Wells Jr. and Esperanza S. Wells. George was raised in Brawley, CA, where he attended Brawley High School, Imperial Valley College and the University of California, San Diego. George was larger than life and was loved by his family and friends. In 1980, George moved to Santa Barbara, CA for a job transfer with GTE (eventually Verizon). George fell in love with Santa Barbara where he met his late wife, Joann Napoli. George loved fishing and attending concerts with friends and cousins. He would literally give the shirt off his back for his friends. In 2009, George moved to Oceanside, CA with his parents. George assisted his father as a caregiver until his death in February 2016. During this time, George also battled diabetes. After his father's death, he moved back to Santa Barbara. George is survived by his loving mother, Esperanza S. Wells; two sisters, Patricia Wells and Sylvia Vega; two brothr-in-laws, Agustin Lira and Edward Vega; and his beloved nieces, Sarah and Gabriela Vega. Service will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Norbert Catholic Church, 300 E. Taft Ave, Orange, CA 92865.

Mrs. Wells, Pat, Sylvia, I am so sorry to hear George has passed. He had such a beautiful and bubbly personality that is how I will remember George. It was always a joy to see him drive up to his house on W C in his orange van. Always waving and smiling. My thoughts and prayers to his loving family. RIP George.
