ELISA AVILA PACHECO
Aug. 9, 1923 - Aug. 9, 2014
On her 91st birthday, August 9, 2014, God called his good and faithful servant Elisa Avila Pacheco home.
For more than 30 years, she labored as a field worker instilling the need for a good education in her 12 children.
Twice widowed, she is preceded in death by her husband and son, Manuel and Vicente Pacheco. She is survived by siblings, Pedro, Victor and Aurora Avila; children Jenny (Willie) Fonseca, Margarita (Bob) Buford, Manuel (Tanya) Pacheco, Grace (Ruben) Lopez, Lupe (Frank) Fernandez, Richard (Jerry) Pacheco-McCormick, Rachel, Norma, Lucy, Rosemary and Louis Pacheco; Elisa had 19 grandchildren, 19 great- grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Thursday August 14, 2014 at Frye Chapel in Brawley from 6 to 9 p.m. Service will be held at St. Margaret Mary Church on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 9 a.m.

My fondest memory will always be our special time together. When you would wake up early around 3am every morning to make tortillas, breakfast for us and lunch for you & dad before you would go to work. With so many kids, it was our time together. In those moments I felt special and loved. As a child of three I learned how to cook by watching your quick hands going back and forth making tortillas and delicious comfort food. To this day, I cook like you; by sight and taste. Never measuring adding this and that, making complete meals from a few simple ingredients. I love & miss you Mom.

Thank you Lord for loving us and never leaving our side.
Deep down in our hearts and souls is where your eternal love resides.
With the miracle of life, comes along the miracle of death.
Salvation with you promises eternal life long after our last breath.
It was a beautiful summer day when our Beloved Mother took your hand,
And just with the half blinking of an eye she was off to a heavenly land.
Although our hearts were broken and tears were shed,
The instant relief to her suffering was felt widespread.
Thank you Father for all the family and friends
You've sent our way…
To help soothe those grey clouds far away.
We asked that you continue to bless our family,
Until the very last day when we all reside in your majesty.

Mother, I know God already has welcomed you to your new home in Heaven, and in that knowledge I am happy and sad. Our family is a Circle of love. We are forever linked together by this chain of Gold. Each link is strong in character and heritage. Even though a Link is broken, the rest of the links in the chain continue to supports us to one another. Our parents, Manuel and Elisa, were amazing parents, humble, resilient, loyal, Christian values, and they taught us to never give up even in the dark of times. I miss my mother, Elisa, so much, and her memories will forever remain in my heart. My mother is at Peace and resting with our family members in Heaven awaiting for the day when our other Links in the chain meet her in Heaven. Mommy, we love you.

Elisa Pacheco was my mother-in-law. She was quiet and reserved and treated me like a son. I will miss her. God took an Angel up to Heaven, the day he came down to Earth for Elisa.
