ELVIRA ESCAMILLA VELARDE
Nov. 20, 1954 - Mar. 16, 2013
Elvira Velarde, 58, of Calexico passed away Saturday, March 16.
She was born November 20, 1954 in Calexico. Elvira was a loyal employee of GI Trucking for over 30 years. She was spontaneous and loved to travel. She would say, "the best way to find your way around is to get lost".
Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 22 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Calexico. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m.
Elvira is survived by her mother, Socorro Escamilla; sisters, Christina Escamilla and Elsa Cervantes; son, Alfonso Velarde; daughter, Monica Velarde; daughter-in-law, Nora Velarde; and grandchildren, Isabella, Nicolas and Sofia Velarde.
The family suggests donations of pink flowers be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
