Felipe was born on June 1, 1940, in Brawley; one of thirteen children born to Diega and Sotero Leon.
He passed away on April 17, 2024, after being ill for many years. Felipe worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator. He leaves behind twelve children, Gloria Merriam, Tony Leon, Sandra Leon Ojeda, Vicky Cardenas, Rachel Leon Romero, Ray Leon, Gracie Salazar, Susan Martinez, Lupe Castaneda, Azucena Leon, Samantha Leon, and Sandy Leon; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Rosa Sandoval and Eleanor Salgado.
His viewing services will be held on May 1, 2024, from 12 to 3 p.m. at El Cajon Mortuary 684 S. Mollison Ave., El Cajon, CA. Burial will be at a later date at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley.

Felipe was my step dad for a brief moment, Has a great man, he would always sit and talk with me about life. We would sit outside and enjoy the weather. He was an amazing loving grandfather to my kids who called him Tata Fafa. When I planted a veggie garden he showed me how to take care of it and he would help me pick the veggies as they grew. Thank you Dad for all the great memories I love you and will miss you always!
