Frank Meza Garcia Jr., passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved wife and family in La Jolla on November 27, 2022. Frank was born in Brawley, California, on October 31, 1947. Frank was a lifelong resident of the Imperial Valley and attended schools in Holtville and Imperial. He graduated from Hamilton High School and attended Imperial Valley College. He later joined the Navy. He married his wife, Rebecca Garcia, in El Centro. Frank retired from Riverside County, where he worked as an engineer in the Water Treatment Department.

Mr. Frank Garcia served in the Navy from 1967 to 1969 as a gunner's mate. He was a gun captain for Division Four on the USS Saint Paul he sailed across the coastal seas of Vietnam supporting the Marines and the army troops.

Frank Garcia enjoyed visiting with his family and circle of friends. After retirement, the Garcias continued to travel cross country in the United States. They loved going from state to state and visiting the beautiful historic sites. Road trips included to Washington DC of the Vietnam war Vietnam wall, Lincoln Memorial. They even made it to New York City to see the twin towers before their fall. They loved seeing sites like Graceland and Philadelphia's Liberty Bell, and they made a special trip to the Four Corners. Frank enjoyed chauffeuring "his girl (wife Rebecca) around the country. He enjoyed driving her anywhere she wanted to visit, and they made it to 25 states. He enjoyed traveling and would occasionally stop in at a casino to play the slot machines. Everyone who met him knew he was a talker, as his brother-in-law Bret called him "the Frank one." Frank and Rebecca always love to visit family and celebrate life's special events. You could count on them to be present and support their family.

Frank was preceded in death by his father, Francisco Garcia, and his brother, Antonio Garcia.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Rebecca S. Garcia; stepchildren: Esther Green, Rebecca Dominguez, Salvador Dominguez, and Christina Urias; daughter, Yvette Garcia (Victor); grandson, Victor Angel Borboa; mother, Guadalupe Garcia; siblings: Guadalupe Garcia Ruiz, Louis Garcia, Henry Garcia, Jaime Garcia, Rosie Diaz, Lucy Marrufo, Gloria Gokhale, Mary Lou Velez, Vickie Romero, Isabel Hunt, Ruby Ramos and Angelica Garcia; as well as many lifelong friends; along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at the Frye Chapel in Imperial from 6-8:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 9 a.m. at the Frye Chapel, 338 Aten Rd. in Imperial.
