Gary Daniel Obituary
Gary Daniel, 75, of El
Centro passed away of
natural causes on August
24, 2015 at Scripps Mercy
Hospital, San Diego. He was born December
11, 1939 in Searcy County,
Arkansas. Gary moved
with his family to El Cen-
tro in 1947 and at age 10
began work as a newsboy
for the Imperial Valley
Press. Gary retired from
the IV Press in 2009 with
nearly 60 years of service
in printing and composi-
tion. Gary was a kind,
modest, and generous
man and beloved brother
and uncle. He was an
avid outdoorsman - al-
ways boating, fishing, and
hunting at the Salton Sea
- and was active in sever-
al local gun clubs. Gary
generously supported or-
ganizations dedicated to
the welfare of children,
animals, and wildlife. He was preceded in
death by his parents, El-
mer Lee and Edith Dan-
iel. Gary is survived by his
sister, Betty Lee Ronayne,
Sacramento CA; niece,
Regan Ronayne Davis,
Carmichael, CA;
great-niece Andrea Cav-
en, Hollywood, CA;
great-nephew Ryan D.
Caven, Porterville, CA. Private services were
held and Gary was laid to
rest at East Lawn Ceme-
tery in Marshall, Arkan-
sas. The family suggests
memorials to ASPCA.

I am sad to learn of the passing of Gary. He was probably the longest tenured employee of the Imperial Valley Press. Soft spoken; never taken to anger. Gary loved his truck and dogs. He was a good man.

I am very sad to hear about Gary's death. I had the pleasure of meeting Gary when I worked at the IV Press. A very nice man indeed. My thoughts and prayers are with all of his family.

Our sympathy goes out to Gary's family in this time of their loss. Gary was a kind and gentle man, and it was a pleasure to work with him at the Press in the 50s and 60s.
