GEORGIA HENSLEY Obituary

Georgia Leslie Johnson was born in Bremerton, WA, and grew up attending schools in Holtville, CA. She graduated from Holtville High School in 1963. Soon after, she married the love of her life, Albert Hensley Jr., on June 21, 1963. Albert and Georgia made their home in the Imperial Valley and raised their family in Holtville, El Centro, and Brawley. Georgia worked as a bookkeeper her entire career, serving for several years as the office manager for George M. Bell & Son in El Centro and then for Del Norte Chevrolet in Brawley. She finally retired in 2011 from Fifield Land Co. in Brawley. Throughout her life, she enjoyed visiting with her dear lifelong girlfriends, gardening, fishing trips with her husband, and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Hensley Jr., in 2016. She is survived by her daughters, Michelle (David) Overstreet and Janet (Darren) Dickey; sons, Mark (Jaime) Hensley and Albert Hensley, III; she also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, Lauren Hensley, Matthew Hensley, Blake Hensley, Dakoda Dickey, and Dylan Dickey; and one great-grandson, Jaxon Godfrey; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends who will miss her dearly.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Cheval Farm, 346 Larsen Rd., Imperial, CA.
