Gerardo Jerry Antonio Ortiz, 49, of Imperial passed away on January 6, 2025. He was born on November 26, 1975.
Gerardo enjoyed a life-long interest and practice as an accomplished electrician, beginning with residential focus as well as commercial work. Jerry was the Owner & Founder of Conquer Electric. He graduated from Imperial Valley College with an associate's degree. Most notably, Gerardo, also known as Gera to his family and Jerry by his friends and colleagues, will always be remembered for his musical abilities in guitar in the likeness of his idol, Darrell Lance Abott, Dimebag Darrell and for always bringing the light and laughter to any room.
Gera is survived by his parents, Rosa and Daniel G. Ortiz Sr.; brother, Daniel G. Ortiz Jr.; sisters, Rosanna Perez, Deanna Guieb, and Christina Ortiz; children, Alexus Irene Ortiz and Sebastean Antonio Ortiz. Gera's in-laws, nieces, and nephews include; Marubia, Marina, Nathan and Melody Ortiz-Moreno; Martin, Bella, and Jr., Perez; Felix, Sophia, Mila, Leah, Alissa, and Felix Jr.; Nick and Mariella Cruz Miramon.
In addition, all his surviving Ortiz-Jaramillo and Garcia-Corral aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Rosary with mass to follow will be officiated by Deacon Domingo on February 1, 2025, at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in El Centro. Visitation will be held at Frye Chapel in Imperial from 12:30-2:30 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in El Centro from 3-7 p.m.
