"MEMO"
June 25, 1931- April 29, 2008
Guillermo Loo "Memo", 76, of Calexico passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2008.
Memo co-founded California Super Market in Calexico with his brother Alex Loo and three other partners. In 1968, California Market at 127 E. 2nd Street in Calexico opened followed by California Super Market at 601 S. Imperial Avenue in Calexico in 1976. In 1996 California Mayoreo y Menudeo opened at 363 W. 2nd Street. When he retired in 1998, he enjoyed his time with his family, grandchildren and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday May 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary in Calexico.
Services will be officiated by Reverend Stephen Mark Monday, May 5 at Hems Brothers Mortuary in Calexico at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Mtn View Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife Maria Loo; daughter, Alicia Loo; and sons, Leopoldo and Hector Loo; grandchildren, Cynthia O. Loo, Leopoldo Loo Jr., Dulce Paola Loo and Kevin Loo; his brothers are Law Hung Sin of Los Angeles and Alex Loo of Calexico and sister Emma Loo Rivera of Heber.
