We use to play football with the Goff Boys in Heber in their yard. One afternoon Mr. Goff decided he wanted to join in. Don't think he realized that we were playing tackle football. There was Gene , Tommy, Billy (mike was to small at the time) the Moses boys - George, Me(Jimmy), Mike and Steve Baxter.
We chose up sides for mixed competition. Don't remember which team Mr. Goff was on but it was 4 on each team. On kick off Mr Goof ended up with the ball. He traveled about 1/2 the length of the small before he was tackled. I really think he was surprised to be tackled and hit the ground. The look hon his face was awesome. I do remember him saying " no one said it was tackle". I think it was Gene that said " Dad, its foot ball, not sissy ball". We all had a good laugh. Rest in Pease Mr. Goff. I know you are with your son's Gene and Billy.
