HOLLY BARKALOW Obituary
July 17, 1953 – July 10, 2024
Holly Jane Barkalow was born on July 17, 1953 to Norvel Clyde and Mildred Bernice Barkalow. She passed away on July 10, 2024, just short of her 71st birthday. As a teen, Holly's family moved to El Centro, where she graduated from Central Union High School. She went on to earn a degree in Education at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She later got her Masters from Pepperdine University.
Holly returned to El Centro and taught RSP for El Centro Elementary School District for forty years. She touched many students over the years. She also worked tirelessly as a CTA Union member. After retirement Holly continued to volunteer her time to ECESD.
Holly was an avid bridge player. She also enjoyed scrapbooking and collecting Disney memorabilia and anything Coco Cola. During the summer, she vacationed in McCall, Idaho. Holly will be missed by her faithful dogs, friends and adopted nieces and nephews. She is survived by her niece, Gillian Brittian and nephew, Jordan Barkalow.
Please join us at an Open House to celebrate Holly's life on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Uniserve Office on La Brucherie Avenue.

I have a ver
I remember Holly as a student at Wilson Jr. High. She became a friend and a co- worker.Holly was always willing to help anyone who needed it. She was devoted to her students and to ECETA.She was a tremendous aide to me when I served as President of ECETA. I could never have survived if she hadn't been there She was a loyal and energetic person. She will certainly be missed. An Angel has gone home.

You will be missed by many Auntie Holly. I was so saddened to hear of your passing. I will always remember you. I saw you everyday after school throughout my elementary years as I would go to my Dad´s classroom and your classroom was on the same wing. Rest easy Auntie Holly.
