JIM V. JEFFREYS

Jim Van Jeffreys, a former longtime resident of El Centro passed away peacefully at home in Escondido, California surrounded by his family on November 29, 2012.
Jim was born October 16, 1934 to Van and Vesta Jeffreys in Paris, Arkansas. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. Jim married his adored wife, Sharon "Sheri" Rector on April 1, 1964. He worked in finance, real estate and property management and retired in 2006. Jim's hobbies included playing guitar and keyboard, solving crossword puzzles and collecting Disney figures.
Jim was preceded in death by his beloved parents and identical twin brother, Duke.
He is survived by his treasured family: wife, Sheri; son, Jon Jeffreys; daughters, Terri Jeffreys and Wendie (Tim) Blanton; grandchildren, Christopher, Megan, Nicholas, and Shelby; sister, Judy (Bob) Lienau and sister-in-law, Connie Jeffreys; brother-in-law, Ron Rector; nephews, Dan (Karen) Jeffreys (Jessica and Sam) and Herb (Susan) Lienau (Quanah and Evan Judith); and cousins, Wesley Barnett and Sylvia Walker.
Jim deeply appreciated the love, support, gifts and prayers he received from family and friends during his brave battle against cancer.
Jim's love, loyalty and sense of humor will be missed by all.
Services were private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
