Joe 'Joey' Anaya III, lovingly known to his family as 'Baby Joe,' passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 in El Centro, CA at the age of 38. He was born in Brawley, CA on February 2, 1984 to Joe and Martha Anaya. Joey has gone home to be with the Lord. Joey accepted Jesus and was baptized on September 16, 2018 in Yuma, AZ. In his own words written to his son, "It's not about the religion but about your relationship with God and his name is Jehova." Joey was gone way too soon but we loved him enough for a lifetime.

Joey was a very special person, sweet and charming. He was a handsome man with beautiful green eyes and the longest eyelashes. He was always full of life, free-spirited, super energetic, and witty. He will be remembered for his funny jokes, quick comebacks, and his wild and entertaining stories. Joey was an adventurous man, he enjoyed skateboarding, hiking, biking, barbecuing, backpacking, camping, and going on long walks. Joey was a kind and loving person, who helped anyone in need when he could. He was a fun and loving dad to his three children.

He attended local schools and graduated from University of Phoenix with an Associate Degree. Joey was a man of many trades. He worked with various construction companies. As well as, Pulte Homes, Brawley Beef, The Truss Co., Arc of Imperial County, Brothers Windows & Doors, Nassco, HL Welding, and UPS.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jose and Maria Anaya; maternal grandparents, Margarito and Manuela Guzman; aunt, Gloria Anaya; uncles, Hector Aceves, George and Alfred Guzman; cousin, Hector Aceves Jr.

Joey is survived by his parents, Joe and Martha Anaya; three children, Samantha Marie, 18, Joe Blake, 13, and Mia Sofia, 8; sisters, Priscilla and TJ Iniguez of Chula Vista, CA and Alisha and Guillermo DeGuzman of Brawley, CA; nieces and nephews, Alyssa, Aria, and Avery Iniguez, Steven Anaya Ruiz, Guillermo Jr., Bellalisa and Jonathan DeGuzman; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
