JOHN LOUIS PAVAO

Sept. 20, 1926 - Mar. 18, 2011



John Louis Pavao, 84, of Indio, CA passed away on March 18, 2011, in Palm Desert, CA.
John was born September 20, 1926 to Frank and Gertrude (Martins) Pavao in Brawley, CA. He attended Imperial schools and graduated with the class of 1945. He later married Mary Lou Hubbard on June 20, 1953.
He served in the U.S. Army National Guard for many years and achieved the rank of Captain and Tank Commander. His life long interest in farming led him to work in the agriculture field for 30 years. He also was a dairy man and served as County Manager for the United States Dept. of Agriculture in Imperial and Riverside Counties. He had resided mostly in the Indio area since 1967.
He is survived by his seven children, Renee, Eleanore, James, Cyndie, John, Aaron and Paul; 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; as well as, 3 brothers and sisters-in-laws, (Frank and Judy in Michigan, Dan and June, and Tony and Pat in El Centro); 11 nieces and nephews (and their children and grandchildren).
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Lorrina; and nephew David.
Graveside services with full military honors were held on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at the Coachella Valley Cemetery in Coachella, CA.

I worked with Mr. Pavao at the Ferry-Morse Seed Co. many years ago. He was always very kind to everyone and very proud of all his children.
