JOHN G. ROWLETT

John L. Rowlett and Candice L. Rowlett, the children of Johnny Rowlett, wish to invite all his friends and family to a celebration of his life to be held Friday, September 19 at 10 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8th and Holt Ave. in El Centro.
We, as Johnny's children, have planned this service ourselves to honor our father because it has been made clear by Cindy Rowlett that we are not welcome nor even invited to her service. We truly encourage you to attend both if you wish. We planned our service as not to interfere.
Johnny Rowlett passed away September 10, 2014. He was employed with Imperial Irrigation District from October 26, 1963 to February 25, 1996. He is survived by his son John L. Rowlett; daughter Candice L. Rowlett; and his grandsons Johnny Ireland and Maddox Glenn Ireland.
We are overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and support we are receiving at this time. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and look forward to seeing each and every one of you Friday.

I will so miss my friend and cousin. I saw him last at my husband's service (Dewey James). He looked so good compared to the tough times he had been having. In the past many many years I only saw Johnny happy! I loved that! I loved his humor. I teased him that when he and Cindy moved Paula was really going to get him! And I was glad to see their return. I will see him again just not today. I grieve for you all. I am sad I cannot be there tomorrow for you. I have lost a dad, a friend, a husband and a child but they all hurt! I will be praying for each and every one of you. Johnny and I were, though first cousins, were more like brother and sister. When I got my first car Johnny talked me into "lowering" it. Of course he did it. I drove it home beaming-end of my car! I once told him I could help him wash a sweater. It came out about as big as a cracker box. Well that's the worst we ever did together and for the most part we did good things! And we did laugh and tell stories of past times. See you again, John. Love to all my family. My heart goes out to all of Johnny's family and friends. I know he will be missed by everyone. In the last few days I have thought of the many things we did as kids in the neighborhood. Lots of GREAT MEMORIES of Johnny. Even though we have been out of touch for 40 years I will miss Johnny greatly. God speed Johnny. Bill Watkins

My sincere condolences and prayers to the Rowlett family and all who knew and loved John. He was a very good man and I have some loving memories of John from Imperial and being part of the family. He will be missed and I will miss seeing his photos/postings online.

Johnny was a great person - that's been said over and over because it's true. When my folks moved us to Imperial from the farm out on Huff Road, we lived "caddy-corner" plus one on South "H" across from the Rowletts. A memory I have is of Johnny"always" working on cars. Several years ago on Facebook, I saw that he and I shared March 25th birthdays but he was a couple of years older :) Johnny was always very friendly and and had a wonderful smile. Cindy, Paula and the rest of his family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Reading his Obituary was like reading a listing of the accomplishments of Who's Who in the world! We were all blessed to know him! What a guy!
