Mr. Julio Favela was born on December 20, 1929, in Colton, CA to Domingo and Jesusa Favela. Mr. Favela passed away on March 9, 2025, surrounded by family. He was the 4th eldest of seven siblings.

In January of 1930, the family moved from Colton to the Westmorland Ranch, located in Imperial. Mr. Favela attended Imperial schools, in which he excelled in baseball. Upon graduating from 8th grade at the age of 14, he started working to help support the family.

In 1951, he met Magdalena "Elena" Monay Quirarte & later married on January 23, 1953, and had 3 children. Mr. Favela continued to work for local farmers, where he excelled in welding and mechanics. In 1979, he started his business as owner-operator of Favela Portable Welding. His clientele consisted of numerous local construction contractors and farmers. Upon retirement, he continued to engage in light mechanical and welding projects. Mr. Favela always managed to make time for his family. He and his wife helped raise 2 grandchildren. He was a lifelong fan of professional boxing and an avid reader. He demonstrated his patriotism for the country by displaying the American flag in his place of business.

He was preceded in death by his father, Domingo; mother, Jesusa; brothers, Dionicio, Alberto, Leodoro; sisters, Carmen and Guadalupe; and grandson, Anthony.

He is survived by his wife, Elena; daughters, Julieta and Maria; sons, Tony (Renee), Julio, and Bobby (Leesa); brother, Jose; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.

Gravesite blessings was held on April 1, 2025, at Evergreen Cemetery.
