KELLY JAUREGUI
April 9, 1920-
June 26, 2005
Kelly Jauregui, 85, of El Centro passed away June 26 at his home following a lengthy illness with cancer.
Kelly was born in Tuxpan, Nayarit, Mexico on April 9, 1920. He immigrated and became a U.S. citizen. Kelly met his wife, Virginia Wyatt Jauregui, when he built an addition onto her home in 1973. They married in 1982. Virginia says the years she was married to him were the best years of her life.
Kelly was a carpenter by trade and worked on many homes in the Imperial Valley. He was extremely giving, loved working, and loved visiting and vacationing with his family. He was a man who loved life and people. Virginia and Kelly had his and her recliners, and one day as they sat together, Virginia thought she heard Kelly talking. She asked him what he had said to her, and he stated that he was talking to God. Virginia will always remember the day she interrupted the conversation between Kelly and God.
Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 11 a.m. at 1st Baptist Church on Orange Street in El Centro, with Pastor Michael Beach will be officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, June 29, at Jardin de la Esperanza on Lopez Mateos in Mexicali, Mexico, beginning at 6 p.m. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 30, at 1 p.m. at Jardin de la Esperanza. Burial will follow the services at 3 p.m. at Jardin de la Esperanza Cemetery.
