Larry and I grew up on Heil Ave in the 40s and 50s. We were friends and graduated from CUHS in 1958. I last saw Larry at a class reunion. We played baseball in his back yard and his mother would serve us treats. He was a great friend.

My dear primo and fellow trumpeter. We connected on Facebook many years ago. You kept encouraging me to come to the annual Escalera Family Reunion and that finally happened in 2018. We got to meet each other in person for the first time and it was wonderful! I already miss our Facebook and emails. Love you my primo. Rest in Peace. My prayers for all your familia and amigos that are missing your physical presence in their lives. Until we meet again. Let's jam on our trumpets with Gabriel the archangel.

Larry was a very fine man ad friend. We went to school together and kept in touch through out the years. He worked at the Title Company and I worked at IID right next door, so we saw each other frequently. He was truly a good man.

Larry was my first real boss when I started at Title Insurance & Trust. "TI" in 1975. He is the kindest, smartest person I've ever worked with. He was my mentor and teacher and an excellent example of professionalism. I'm sad I didn't have the chance to tell him. I wouldn't be where I am today without his tutelage. We had no computer, no copier, no fax; he created index cards that equaled our "database" Genius! I transferred to TI in San Diego with Larry's help and encouragement. I owned and ran my own business "Escrow Co of La Jolla" thanks to Larry. Go with God Larry Escalera. You were an excellent person and are missed.

I considered Larry a friend from the time we first interacted many years ago. Was, first and foremost, completely honest and reliable. He was immensely proud of his family and his heritage.. We´ve lost not only an asset to the business community here, but also a good, decent human being.
