ESPINOZA

Luis Ruben "Louie" Espinoza Jr., 52, unexpectedly passed away on February 5, 2024, at his home in Calexico, CA, with his mother, Georgia, by his side. Louie was born and raised in Calexico and grew up in the Imperial Valley. He attended local schools in Calexico and El Centro and spent the greater part of his younger years working alongside his father, Luis Ruben Espinoza Senior, in the family business, Apollo Drain and Rooter Service. Louie was no stranger to hard work and continued on as a plumber and handyman. Louie was very social, he enjoyed surrounding himself with the company of others. He was a jovial man and a witty conversationalist; one could be ensured laughter in his company. His pastimes included gardening and refurbishing vintage items. He spent the last few years caring for his mother in their long-time family home in Calexico.

Louie was preceded in death by his father, Luis Ruben Espinoza Sr. He is survived by his mother, Georgia Faye Espinoza of Calexico; sisters and brother-in-laws, Gina Linn Espinoza and Rene Quinones of Mexico, Rosanna Pritting Redona and Gilbert Redona of Imperial, Susan A. "Suzy" George and Mark D. George of Lancaster, PA; nieces, Francesca "Niki" Salgado and her wife Lehila Estrada-Garwood and their children, Alexis, Mia, and Alejandro of Imperial, Julia C. Gonzalez of Tulsa, OK; nephew, Lt. Matthew Pritting of Norfolk, VA; and numerous relatives. A special mention for his favorite aunt, Nancy Rivera of El Centro, who held a special place in his heart.

Louie will be truly missed by his family.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2014, at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Calexico, CA. Please join the family in saying "Goodbye for now, until we meet again"; son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Little Louie, you will be missed in the neighborhood. You were always in the front yard watering your mom´s plants or helping me with garbage cans . You were our handyman @ all hits of the day . I will miss you yelling from your front porch & asking how I was . Your mom will definitely miss her companion & caretaker . May you rest in peace .

We were neighbors for so many years and had moved away when Louie was a baby. I remember him being such a cute little boy. I´m so sorry for your loss. Sending big hugs to the Espinoza family.
