LUZ SOLORZANO Obituary

Luz Zavala Solorzano passed away peacefully at her home in Brawley, CA, surrounded by the warmth and love she cultivated throughout her beautiful life.
She was born on July 6, 1945, in Mexicali, BC. Luz was the cherished daughter of Pedro and Felicitias Zavala. She embraced the values instilled in her during her upbringing in Mexicali, where she flourished until her union with the love of her life, Arturo Vargas Solorzano, on June 26, 1965.
In 1964, Luz attended a beautician school in Mexicali, BC, a skill she not only mastered but shared generously with others. Devotion defined Luz's roles as a mother and wife. Over 58 years of marriage, she and Arturo were blessed with three children: Luz, Arturo Jr., and Jose. Luz's home was a haven of love and warmth, where her passion for baking and gardening became a source of joy for her family and friends. Her generosity extended beyond her home as she offered babysitting services to various families, and she was an active member of her church, Saint Margaret Mary.
Luz's grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she found immense joy in watching them grow and spending precious moments with each one.
Luz was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Felicitias Zavala, and six brothers and sisters. She is survived by her devoted husband, Arturo Solorzano; daughter, Luz (Martin) Solorzano Pantoja; sons, Arturo (Maria) Solorzano and Jose (Adrianna) Solorzano; brother, Pedro Zavala; sister, Patricia Zavala; as well as all her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her fiery spirit will forever be etched in our memories, and Luz will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know her.
A funeral service to celebrate Luz's life will be held at Saint Margaret Mary Church at 9 am for the viewing on Thursday, December 21, 2023. The Rosary will commence at 10 am, followed by Mass from 11 am to 12 pm. A graveside service will then take place at Riverview Cemetery.
May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her legacy of love continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
