MARIA HIRALES Obituary
Maria Hirales, 54, of Brawley passed away Friday, June 24. She was born August 2, 1961 in Mexicali, B.C., Mexico and was married to Francisco J. Hirales on December 18, 1987 in El Centro. Maria worked at I.V. Lumber for 10 years and 20+ years at CDCR Cal State Prison. Maria was a loving, caring and fun person to be with. She loved to be around family, especially her grandson Philly. She made a mean "pozole", handmade tortillas and many other delicious dishes that she learned from her momma. She enjoyed her "oldies" music, strolling down memory lane and just enjoying the simple things in life. She was always helping others in anything she could. She had a creative side and liked to craft and personalize her gifts. She enjoyed trips to the casino and weekend getaways with family and friends. Maria was preceded in death by her father, Augustine D. Soto and mother, Socorro L. Soto. She is survived by her husband, Francisco Javier Hirales of Brawley; daughter, Viviana M. Hirales (Raul) of Brawley; son, Miguel A. Hirales (Teresa) of Brawley; brothers, Gregory (Lupe) Soto, Augustine Soto, and Joe Soto; sisters, Aurelia S. Peraza (Rudy) and Vicky (Gabriel) Hernandez; grandson, Felipe "Philly" Zamudio; 20 nieces and nephews, 19 grand nieces and nephews, and 1 great-grand niece. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, July 11 at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley from 6 to 9 p.m. with rosary at 7 p.m. Mass will commence at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 12 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Brawley. Burial will immediately follow at Riverview Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to Scleroderma Awareness.
