MARIA MENESES Obituary

Our beautiful loving mother, sister, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at her home on January 9, 2025, at the age of 89. Early in her life, Maria Elena worked as a secretary for an insurance agency in Mexicali, B.C., for six years. She married Roberto Hector Meneses in July 1961 and had four children. The Meneses family moved to Calexico, CA in 1962, where the family settled until her passing. Maria Elena will be forever in our hearts and remembered for her kindness and love for her family and children. She was also a great friend to many that knew her.
Maria Elena was preceded in death by her husband, Roberto Hector Meneses; parents, Jose Rodriguez and Maria del Socorro Rodriguez Tausch; and her daughter-in-law, Deb. She is survived by her children, Claudia Montano, Hector, Jose Federico, and Roberto; two sisters, Maria Cristina Serna and Ana Maria Valenzuela; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Funeral services viewing (velorio) will be on February 5, 2025, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary, Calexico, CA and mass on February 6, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Calexico.

Dear Claudia, Hector, Jose Federico and Roberto,
I am so deeply sorry for the loss of your mother. She was a wonderful woman, and I will always remember her kindness and warmth in my many fond memories of your mother.
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May you find comfort in the love and memories you shared with her. She has now been re-united with your father. Our angels in heaven are looking down at us.

My condolences to my dear childhood friend Claudia Meneses Montano and her Family...my Condolences to your Hector Jose Federico and Roberto...your Mother was a beautiful elegant sweet Mother and Friend...I remember her dearly with fond memories of her talking with us while we waited for Claudia to get ready when we went out....and her beautiful friendship she had with her friends and my mother....how proud she was when Claudia modeled in fashion shows for my Mothers boutique.....I visited her several times at her residence she was always so welcoming and kind...
