Mary K. Ruegger, 93, of Westmorland, passed away Monday, December 6, 2021 at her home.
Mary was born on January 14, 1928, in Calexico to John and Rebecca (Hinojosa) Kubler. She attended Whittier College, where she majored in music, then she graduated from USC. After teaching piano, as well as an elementary school for three years, she married Max Ruegger in 1955. Later, she was very involved with her children in 4-H activities. She loved music and the arts and was a devoted wife and mother who truly lived her faith. She was very active at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brawley. Mary was known for her beautiful organ/piano playing at church and her willingness to serve in many ways. She was also an active member of the Brawley Chapter of P.E.O.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Max Ruegger, and daughters, Lisa and Jennifer Ruegger.
She is survived by her children, Max Ruegger Jr., wife, MaryAnn, Fritz Ruegger, Karin Ruegger Sims, husband, Weldon, and Paul Ruegger; grandchildren, Katharine and Isabel Ruegger, and Hannah, Rebecca and David Sims.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesdayday, December 22, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Frye Chapel in Brawley; a brief graveside service will follow at Riverview Cemetery at noon.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mary Ruegger to Trinity Lutheran Church, Brawley, or North County Coalition for the Arts.
