Patricia Nava Obituary

PATRICIA NAVA

May 17, 1951 - Apr. 2, 2009

Patricia Nava, 57, of Calexico passed away Thursday, April 2 at El Centro Regional Medical Center after a long illness.
She was born May 17, 1951 in Mexicali, Baja, California. Paty came to Calexico in 1971 to live with her sister Lydia and her family. From the beginning, Paty surrounded herself with friends and took great pride in being "Nina" to numerous god-children. Her many comadres, compadres and Fed-Mart co-workers were a source of great joy to her throughout her life. Most recently, her extended "family" was made up of the friends and nurses she met at the Imperial Valley Dialysis and Alegria Adult Day Health Care Center. She had a remarkable knack for remembering the birthdays and anniversaries of everyone she met. Always a butterfly, Paty could turn a simple errand into a grand social occasion. Those who knew her will remember Paty for her infectious high spirit and loving nature.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 7 at 6 p.m. at Hems Brothers Mortuary in Calexico.
Mass will commence at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Calexico with Father Gerardo Fernandez. Burial will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in Calexico at a later date.
Patricia is survived by her sisters, Lydia Farias, Aida Kennedy and Fujiko Matoo; brothers, Rafael Camacho and Modesto Terasi and many loving nieces and nephews.
