PAUL PLUNKETT

1926 - 2015

Paul Plunkett, 88, of Brawley passed away October 16, 2015. He was born December 16, 1926 in Mena, Arkansas and was married to the late Thelma Louise Plunkett on May 9, 1945 in Yuma, AZ. Paul served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He was later self-employed in the service station business for 45 years. Visitation will take place Friday, December 18 at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley from 6 to 8 p.m. Chapel service will commence at 9 a.m. Saturday, December 19 also at Frye Chapel with Rev. Dr. Ron Griffen officiating. Paul will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery after the service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Louise Plunkett; father, AJ Plunkett; mother, Ruth Plunkett; brothers, Carl Plunkett, Alfred Plunkett, Eddie Plunkett, Doc Plunkett; sisters, Adele Kennedy and Barbara Duke. Paul is survived by his son, Kenneth Plunkett (Sandra) of Brawley; daughter, Paula Finnell of Poway, CA; sister, Judy Dew of Thousand Oaks, CA; 4 grandchildren, Kristine Bourgeois (Mark) of Nacogdoches, TX, Cory Finnell (Adrienne) of Seattle, WA, Kamay Abel (Tyler) of Lawrence, KS, and Kenneth Plunkett Jr. of Brawley; great-grandchildren, Dylan Snyder and Sophia Bourgeois, both of Nacogdoches, TX, Kaleb Smith of Temecula, CA, and Taylor Finnell and Avery Finnell of Seattle, WA; and caregiver, Latricia Cook of Brawley.
