PHILLIP FALKENSTEIN Obituary

PHILLIP RAY

FALKENSTEIN

Sept. 9, 1953 – Mar. 17, 2025

Phil peacefully went to be with our Lord on March 17, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Phil was born in Torrance, CA, to Phillip R. Falkenstein & Margaret Tinkle.

He graduated from Brawley Union High School in 1971. Soon after high school, he met the love of his life, Dawn Williams, whom he was happily married to for 52 years. Phil took pride in working for his father in his cotton business for some time. He pursued an education later on in life and graduated from IVC in 1996 and then earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. He retired from the Imperial Irrigation District after 33 years as a Supervisor of Customer Relations. Phil loved to spend time with his three granddaughters and attended all their activities. It brought him joy to be near them and see them grow. In his early years, he loved taking his family camping to Ensenada and road tripping around this beautiful country he loved so much. He enjoyed racing pigeons, being a member of the Signal Mountain Muzzle Loaders, and being involved in the Imperial County Republican Party.

Phil is survived by his wife, Dawn; children, Jack and Phil (Sonia); granddaughters, Kendall, Lauren, & Brooke; sisters, Patricia (James) Stenzel and Susan Sandberg; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special thanks to Accent Care and nurse Bethany Bovino for your loving care.

A celebration of life will take place on April 26, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Valley Christian Church, 431 Wall Rd., Imperial CA.

My deepest condenses to Dawn and family. Phil was such a kind and funny guy. I attended BUHS and also graduated in the class of ‘71 with him. Later, Phil was one of my marketing students at University of Phoenix. He and his team created and presented one of the most memorable marketing plans of my many students. The world is a better place because Phil Falkenstein was here. God bless you with strength and healing, Dawn.

Condolences to the Falkenstein family. I worked many years with Phill at IID, he always helped me with our employee elections. He was quick witted and humorous at the same time. Always enjoyed spending time with him and so sorry to hear he is gone. Everyone who knew him liked him, that was a unique trait Phill had. We will all grieve the loss of our friend and are thankful for the time we shared.

Dawn, may God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Phil was a really nice person. At IID he'd walk into my office to order printing supplies, always had a beautiful smile and great conversation. I did not know he was a Wildcat. He loved to help you with your craft display at the farmers market.
