RAFAEL "HECTOR" GONZALES
Mar. 16, 1936 - June 18, 2011
Rafael Gonzales, 75, of Brawley passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Alvarado Hospital in San Diego of bad health.
He attended grade schools in Brawley and went to Brawley Union High until the 11th grade. He played football for Coach Ferrell, who nicknamed him "1/2 pint of TNT" he was a small running back which was tough for his size. He worked in Agriculture in the Imperial Valley. He also worked in produce in Los Angeles on Market until his retirement ten years ago.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Beatrice and Tomas; brothers, Benjamin, Mario, Tomas Jr., Robert, Louie; sisters, Enriquetta and Oliva.
Rafael is survived by his sons, Rafael H. Gonzalez Jr. of La Quinta, CA, Ruben T. Gonzalez of San Diego, and Tommy Gonzalez of Pico Rivera, CA
daughters, Rachel Ramirez of Brawley and Neri Alice Espinoza of San Diego; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lupe De La O of Los Angeles and Rosie Romero of Hanford, CA; brother, Henry Gonzalez of Duarte, CA.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29th at Frye Chapel and Mortuary from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Services will be held on Thursday, June 30th at St. Margaret Mary Church at 8:30 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at Riverview Cemetery.

I just want to thank everyone that was present and helped with the arrangements for our father "Hector" I want to thank my sister Rachel and her husband Edddie Ramirez for taking on the burden on arranging the majority of the arragements and opening her house to family and friends, and making arragements for all the food at the Hidalgo Hall after the services. Hector will be miss by family and friends, we love you, "Pops"
