RAYMOND DIAL

Jan. 25, 1964 Nov. 21, 2022

With heavy hearts, the Dial family announces the sudden passing of Raymond Todd Dial, 58, of Brawley, California, on November 21, 2022. Even though he left this world, his lasting impact will forever change those whose lives he touched.

Todd was born on January 25, 1964, in Brawley, to Raymond Lee Dial and Marie Anne (Mamer) Dial. Todd graduated from Brawley Union High School in 1982. After attending Imperial Valley College, he graduated from California Polytechnic University, Pomona, with a degree in applied mathematics. He worked as a teacher at BUHS before joining the Imperial County Public Works Department. This began his 30-plus-year career as a land surveyor. He eventually transitioned into ownership in the private sector, where he continued to make a positive impact on his local community.

Todd married his high school sweetheart, Cecilia Dominguez, on October 15, 1988. They spent the next 33 years raising three wonderful children who all followed their father's footsteps into the surveying and engineering field.

Those who knew him appreciated his friendly nature and sense of humor. He loved to talk to people and was often described as someone "who never met a stranger." Todd developed an interest in music at an early age, and he continued to play a variety of instruments and compose music throughout his life. He used his musical gifts to profess his faith in God. Todd will be deeply missed by the many people he positively influenced throughout his life, including former students, bandmates, colleagues, friends, and especially his family.

Todd is survived by his parents, Ray and Marie Dial; Ceci Dominguez Dial; daughter, Alexis (Todd) Richardson; sons, Zachary (Kimber) Dial and Jeremy Dial; brother, Tim (Laura) Dial; sister, Lisa (Bobby) Lee; and grandchild, Ashton Dial; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He looked forward to the arrival of his second grandchild.

We invite you to attend the service, which will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023, at the Brawley First Presbyterian Church, 301 Main Street, Brawley, CA, at 2 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at the home of Hugo and Helen Dominguez, 1292 Trail Street, Brawley, CA, at 4 p.m.

Todd was what I would call the quintessential California kid. Laid back, positive spirit, infectious laugh, an athlete, scholar, and musician all rolled into one. Just one of the nicest people you'd ever meet. I don't know if I ever saw him upset, angry or not smiling and joking around. One of the best people I grew up with. Condolences to his family.

Ceci it has been some time now that we left Brawley as one of your neighbors down the street. Todd was always very calm and even keel when we had a moment to talk. Our deepest condolences to your family. Todd will be missed but his calm spirit never be forgotten.

I remember fun times with Todd being an Assistant BUHS Track Coach. Always pumping me up before a race and high 5'ing me at the finish line. Laughing and goofy jokes he'd tell us on the drive home from away events. Great guy all around. My deepest condolences and prayers for his family.

Todd, as our paths crossed at work or elsewhere your grin always prepared me for what was next. Laughter, always making me laugh no holding back. I was fortunate to have your friendship in this life although way too short. You have your work cut out for you, surveying the stars in the universe will be just right.
My deepest condolences to your family. Respectfully.

It was always refreshing to interact with Todd. He never had an ego and nearly always made people laugh while attending to the tasks at hand. Incredibly kind too. The world needs more land surveyors like Todd. His professional opinion had value. I know I'll miss him.
Condolences to the family too.
Sincerely,
