Victor M. Cervantes, 58, of Heber, CA passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018 of Pulmonary Embolism in La Jolla, CA. Victor was born on May 12, 1960 in Mexicali, MX. He married Rocio Cervantes on April 20, 1978 in Mexicali, MX. Victor was once a high school soccer star, who shared his love for the sport with his children. After retiring from Spreckels, he could be found enjoying his time going everywhere in the company of his family and enjoying his grandchildren. He loved to go to concerts, baseball games, on family vacations and boxing matches. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his love for cars. He was preceded in death by his father, Francisco, "Tata Pancho" Cervantes; his brother, Francisco Javier "Chichi" Cervantes; nephews, Jose Ernesto "Jr." Zavala and Francisco Javier "Chiko" Cervantes. He is survived by his spouse, Rocio Cervantes of Heber, CA; son, Victor Manuel Cervantes Jr. of Imperial, CA; daughters, Christina Cervantes and Sonia Rocio Cervantes both of Heber, CA; mother, Maria Teresa Cervantes of Heber, CA; siblings, Concepcion Zavala, Luisa Alcantar, Terry Druihet Cervantes, Ramiro Cervantes, Gabriel Cervantes Jose Cervantes and Arturo Cervantes; grandchildren, Angelica, Victor III, Teela, Giselle, Arissah, Victoria, Nathalia, Rebekah, Vianney and Violetta; great-grandchildren, Valentin and Ezekiel. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 6 p.m. with rosary at 7 p.m. at Hems and Brothers Mortuary in El Centro, CA. A mass will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in El Centro, CA. Burial will immediately follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Calexico, CA.
