Zugey & Zydel
12-07-05
So high, So high, I know that’s
where you are
With your little one in your arms,
so tightly cradled with all your love.
So high above you are, standing with
your little one, Zydel that’s who she was.
Zugey and Zydel together as one, finally
Together sharing all their love
We sit here on earth, wondering why,
You and your baby where taken from
Us.
So I ponder and I wonder, whats the
answer to my Question, “Why,” while
crying myself to sleep at night.
I miss you Zugey, I miss you Zydel,
So high, So high, even though I
Know, that’s where you are

Zugey,
I juz dnt know where to start mija. I juz want to let u know that I miss u so much, and juz how I miss u I regret so much too. I regret not telling u how much I loved u and how much I admired u and how I would alwayz think to myself how much I wanted to be juz like u. But in one way or another I would let u know wether it was juz little hug or even a kiss... but deep down in my heart I knew u knew juz how I felt. Even though u r gone I know u can still read this, so this is why I'm sitting here thinking to myself why ur gone as write wht it is I feal. U filled my life with joy when u told us u where having a babygirl... and when that little girl was born I felt so much joy from u, she changed u so much. Ur smile wasnt ur usual smile anymore but a more radiant one that I had never seen before until the day u married that same smile returned to light face once again. I juz wanted to let some of my feelings out and I didnt know how to do it till now so I write this hoping this will bring some closure to my heartbroken corazon. I juz really hope u made it home safely to meet ur baby girl Zydel with open arms! To show her juz how much u missed her and loved her all this time she was gone. But now u two are united to be one forever. Till we all meet again one day... I juz want to say I LOVE U and ur BABY GIRL ZYDEL.! Juz promise one thing to never leave ur mothers side for she is the one who truly hurtz the most in this. She misses u both and loves u two so much. That is all I ask of both of u. Not only for my mother but for all of us dad, chris, ranier, me and cindy. Im truly sorry ur time was cut so short because all I wanted was to be closer to u and have a better relationship with u. Juz like the one I have with Ranier. But from the bottom of my heart I miss u so much and I need u so much not only u but ur baby girl too. Till we all meet again Ill never forget u both.
Love alwayz ur BABYSIS
KAYLANIE
(dndt forget to kiss ur lil one for us all happy be-lated birthday Zydel! ur a big girl now =))

Zugey was two years older than me when we played basketball at Central. I remember thinking she had the qualities that I wanted to have: she was reliable, hardworking, dedicated. Her smile could ease nerves before a Brawley game, and she made us want to smile too. But I fear that, as teammates, we may have taken her strengths for granted.
After high school it became clear that what Zugey possessed was completely unordinary. Few people had what she so easily radiated, whether it was twirling her baton or just chatting in the locker room. We can call it grace, or luminous warmth, but each word hurts to say now that Zugey is gone. I am stunned and can only hope the Velarde family feels peace knowing their daughter is with angels. My condolences at this very difficult time.

The Velarde family were our neighbors across the street on Sandalwood Dr., and when Zugey was in high school, we would always see her on her front lawn practicing twirling her baton. But what we remember most about her was her smile. No matter what time of day or night, if you saw Zugey outside, she always had the biggest, and brightest smile you could ever see. She truly was a very sweet, beautiful, friendly, and cheery young lady. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Velarde family in this time of trial.

I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to Zugey's Family and Friends. I played SunFire Football with Zugey and We are All truly blessed to have known and played with her as a teammate. The Coach would always call her ,"ZULAY." She hated it and pretty soon we called her that and we all laughed about it. Remember that trip to Hawaii? We all had such a great time.
We will Miss You ZULAY...

I just wanted to send my condolences to Chris and Zugey's family. Zugey was a wonderful person ... I could always look to her and know she would have that silly smile on her face. I still remember the first time I met her... at home depot. I didn't pronounce her name right and boy did she let me know it =) She will be missed but I know she's in a better place.
