Morris Pruit Obituary
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Oakwood Cemetery in Jacksboro, Texas.
Morris married Christine Chambers on June 23, 1960, in Lovington, New Mexico. Together they raised their sons, Aaron, Charles and Don. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jacksboro, Texas and worked many years at Enron Oil Trading and Transportation where he managed a large portion of the business.
Morris grew up in eastern New Mexico where he began working as a ranch hand at an early age. He spent a great portion of his life as a Cowman and was respected by his friends, family and peers, not only as a Cowman but as a man. As Patriarch of the family, Morris was and always will be "The Cowboy Boss". He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Morris is preceded in death by his wife Christine Pruit, son Don Pruit, and parents. Those left behind to cherish his memory include his sons, Aaron Pruit and wife D'awn, Charles Pruit and wife Tracy; grandchildren, Mo Pruit and Krista Reddy; siblings, Lanna Pruit, Virginia Freeman and Linda Pruit Jackson; great grandchildren Kendra, Charli, Brazos and Rylan, along with many extended family and friends.
