Velda Rhoades Obituary

Velda Fern (King) Rhoades May 16, 1943 - September 12, 2025 Velda Fern (King) Rhoades, age 82, passed away on September 12, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born on May 16, 1943, in Jacksboro, Texas, to Royce Clifford King and Glayds Vernie (Farless) King.

A visitation will be held from 10 AM to 11 AM on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Coker Funeral Home in Jacksboro, Texas. A funeral service will follow, beginning at 11 AM. Burial will take place at Hicks Cemetery.

Velda married Roy Calvin Rhoades on July 14, 1962, in Decatur, Texas. Together they raised their children, Wayland, Ronald (Trapper), Gene, and Denise. She was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God and a baker for many years. Most of all, Velda loved spending time with her family and friends.

Velda is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Calvin Rhoades; son, Wayland Paul Rhoades; parents; and brothers, Eldon King, Weldon King, David Wayne King, and Roger King.

Those left behind to cherish her memory include her children, Ronald (Trapper) Rhoades and wife Debbie, Gene Rhoades and wife Julie, and Denise Stevens and husband Roy; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; along with other extended family and friends.
