Albertha Schmidt Strnadel Albertha Schmidt Strnadel of Inez, Texas passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the age of 94. She was 40 days shy of turning 95. Albertha was born March 3, 1930, in Wharton County to the late Louis F. and Hedwig Brieger Schmidt. She graduated from Wharton High School in 1947.

On June 6, 1949, she married C.J. Strnadel, Jr. They were married in the Wharton Catholic Church by Father John Campbell. She and her loving husband, C.J., made their home in Inez, and Albertha continued to live there after the death of her husband in 2015. They were married for over 66 years. Albertha is a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Albertha was employed as a bookkeeper and teller for almost 25 years at First Bank in Edna, which is now Prosperity Bank.

She was preceded in death by her husband, C.J. Strnadel Jr.; grandson, Charles J. Strnadel IV and brother-in-law, Roland McConnell. She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Swenson and husband, Carl of Inez, Lynette Migl and husband, George of Raisin and son, Charles Strnadel III and his wife, Carolyn of Inez. She is also survived by granddaughter, Cheyenne Migl of Raisin and great-granddaughter, Cadence Strnadel of Victoria. Albertha also is survived by one brother, Raymond Schmidt and wife, Evelyn of Beasley, Texas and a sister, Ella Mae McConnell of Needville, Texas.

Albertha enjoyed sewing and was quite the seamstress. She enjoyed canning vegetables from her garden. Often, she spent the day working in the yard and mowing the lawn. She was a wonderful baker and known for her angel food cakes. She also loved to travel, especially to Louisiana and Nevada.

Visitation was held Monday, January 27th from 9:30-10:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Inez, Texas. with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Interment immediately followed at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers are James McConnell, Randal Schmidt, Dwayne Skow, Kevin Skow, Daniel Witte and Tip North.
