Dustin Anthony Staff Dustin Anthony Staff, beloved husband, son, brother, grandson, and friend passed away on Saturday, the 6th of September 2025 after a valiant battle with cancer at the age of 37. Dustin was born on the 4th of February in Victoria, TX to Laurie Witzel Staff and Gary Anthony Staff.
Dustin is survived by his wife, Taylar Heller Staff; his mother Laurie Witzel Staff of Ganado; sister Ashley Staff Reed and husband Shelby of Bryan; maternal grandmother Barb Witzel of Boerne; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law Shelly Heller Jackson and Roy Jackson of Austin; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law Grant and Megan Heller of Inez and Reese and Leigh Heller of Houston. Last, but not least he is survived by his very spoiled dog, Jade.
Dustin was preceded in death by his father Gary Anthony Staff; father-in-law Dennis Heller; grandfather Gene Witzel, paternal grandparents Daniel and Betty Joyce Staff and uncle Darrell Staff.
Dustin is also loved and remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins.
Dustin will be remembered for his quick wit and the joy he brought into every room. Dustin's humor and larger-than-life personality touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Life was never dull in his company, and the stories and laughter he shared will live on in all who loved him.
Dustin found happiness in exploring the world and sharing those adventures with his wife, Taylar, and his family. Dustin also cared deeply for their dog, Jade, who brought him joy, laughter, and unconditional love.
Dustin's love for sports ran deep, especially for the Texas Longhorns and Houston Astros, teams he cheered for with endless passion and unwavering pride. He also loved to remind his sister of A&M's record from time to time.
Dustin had a lifelong love of video games, finding enjoyment, challenges, and plenty of laughter, or possibly a little exasperation, in every adventure on the screen. It was also a way to connect and have fun with his friends. Dustin had a gambler's spirit, always ready to take a chance and place a bet, no matter the outcome (though winning was definitely more fun).
