Mable Elizabeth League

Mrs. Mable Elizabeth Maffett League, age 100, peacefully passed away Monday evening December 2, 2024, at Westbury Center of Jackson for Nursing and Healing where she had resided for the last few months. She was born August 10, 1924, in Winder, GA to the late Enos and Annie Maffett. Mrs. League retired from J.C. Penney catalog division in 1989 after 20 years of faithful service. She was a devoted member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Mable appreciated playing cards with "The Ladies", watching her beloved Georgia Bulldogs, traveling, bowling, but she loved driving her 1966 Chevy Chevelle SS 396 just a little bit too fast.

Mrs. League was married to Herbert Hobson League for over 40 years until his death in 1981. She is survived by her daughter & son in law, Diane & Rick Dickens of Jackson, her son Jerry League of Loganville along with 9 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren, her brother Gerald Maffett of Monroe and one sister Margaret Mathis of Jackson. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Ronald League, 2 sisters and a brother.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Mable Elizabeth Maffett League, will be held Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 11 AM in the Sanctuary of Macedonia Baptist Church, Rev. Jason Reagan will officiate. You may visit with the Family at the Church prior to the Service beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be at the Rest Haven Cemetery, 200 North Madison Ave., Monroe, GA at 2:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers the Family request donations to the Westbury Activities Dept. Center Christmas Fund, 922 McDonough Rd., Jackson, GA 30233.
