Mildred Pouncey Obituary

The family of Mildred Fay (Clark) Pouncey of Jackson Lake, GA is sad to announce she passed away peacefully on July 10 at age 97. She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother who was loved by all.

Mildred was preceded in death by her loving husband Weyman and her parents Julius Wesley Clark and Oda Fay Clark. She is survived by her daughters and son in laws Debbie and Tim Savage and Bonnie and Jackie Black; grandchildren Colin, Heather, Anna, Alex, Jacqueline & Parker and 11 great-grandchildren. She leaves many other family and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was born in Cedar Grove in 1928 on her family's dairy farm. With 6 siblings and spouses nearby, her life was filled with family. She and Weyman later moved to Jackson Lake where they were long time residents, having initially purchased land in the early 1950s. She spent time exploring family history and even wrote her Mother's Biography. She loved traveling and playing with all of grand and great grand children.

Services for Mrs. Pouncey will be held July 12 at Horis Ward Funeral Home, Fairview Chapel in Stockbridge with burial following at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Ellenwood.
