Patricia Byars Obituary

Ms. Patricia Ann (Patsy) Yawn Byars, age 71, of Jackson peacefully entered into rest on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Westbury Center of Jackson for Nursing and Healing, after an extended illness with Alzheimer's disease. Patsy was born Saturday, October 6, 1951, in Atlanta, GA to the late John Bivens and Maude Harrison Yawn. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Gary Yawn.

Patsy attended Jackson High School and then Georgia College in Milledgeville. She was employed by Central Georgia EMC for 17 years and resigned her position to devote her time to raising her family and join Allen Byars in operating Hickory Hill Golf Club in Jackson. Patsy was an active member of The First Baptist Church of Jackson for as long as her health allowed.

Patsy is survived by her daughter Audrey Byars Reeves (Spence) of Jackson and her son, Nathan Byars of Jackson. She was the proud grandmother of 2 grandchildren: Banks Reeves and Beckett Reeves and loving sister to Marcia Yawn Clark (Mike), Kay Yawn Duke (Larry) and Fay Yawn Freeman all of Jackson. Patsy is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Patricia Ann (Patsy) Yawn Byars will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 2:00 PM at The First Baptist Church of Jackson, Rev. Danny Hughes and Rev. Trey Varner will officiate. The Family will receive friends immediately prior to the Service, beginning at 1:00 PM in the Church Narthex.
