Still rememered and thought of fondly every day.

It's a little stranger, nearly 7 years out from Austin's death that I'm even here reading his Obituary and thinking about it. Austin and I weren't close friends -- we knew eachother, sometimes ate lunch together, I was more of a friend of his sister's but even then it was more like we just shared a friend circle somewhat.

But I wonder about Austin's death sometimes when I'm sitting around. I'm 7 years out from the death of guy I could only just barely call myself a friendly acquaintance of, but I often wonder what he'd be doing now, or what affect his death might have had on me. That isn't so important. More often than not I just hope his family is doing okay.

It's strange how quick things can just disappear. Even the small things.

I didn't know Austin well, but had the pleasure of meeting Austin and his family on an occasion or two when his Uncle Everett and I went to visit. He seemed like a terrific kid with many interests and a bright future ahead. As I listened to the stories everyone shared about "life's happenings" it was evident that he loved his family very much and that they deeply loved him in return. Having a teenage son of my own, I can't imagine the depths of pain and sorrow you all are feeling (The Dyke and Hubbard families) for this tragic, senseless loss and as my heart aches for you all, I hope you will accept my deepest sympathy. There probably isn't much that will bring you comfort at the moment, but I hope you will eventually find some peace in the memories you have made together as a family, and in knowing that Austin's spirit is eternally bonded with yours and that he will live on lovingly with each of you in heart, mind, body and soul.

I wish you all much peace and healing in the weeks, months and years to come!

What a wonderful and kind young man. Austin would always say hello when we would see him at the library. How many young men would care about an elderly man.

I never had this sick feeling in my stomach before of losing a loved one. I never thought it would have to be you. You were to good for this world, and your in a better place now watching over me and all your other family and friends that care about you. I love you always and forever, I will see you oneday again

I did not know Austin at all, nor do I ave any connection to his family. What I do have is a similar circumstance, and that is more than enough to reach out and express with conviction that I do know what you are going through and I'm sure Austin and my brother are "kickin' it with Jesus" as my brother would say.
Rest easy Austin.
