Bruce Hamilton Obituary
Jackson - Dr. Bruce N. Hamilton, age 72, died peacefully at his Jackson residence on Monday, July 19, 2021 with his family by his side.
He was born in San Diego, CA on December 16, 1948, the son of John and Billie Jane Downen Hamilton. He was a graduate of Frayser High School in Memphis, TN, attended Southwestern at Memphis, Memphis State University and graduated from the UT Center For Health Sciences Dental School. Dr. Hamilton was in Private practice locally for many years before becoming associated with the UTHSC Dental College, serving in Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Hamilton received numerous awards during his career, but two that he was most proud of were from the ladies of the Dream Center and his work there and the other from UTCHS Dental program SGAEC Award for excellence in teaching. He was a former member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, serving as a Lay Reader, Lay Eucharistic Minister and on the Vestry. He is currently a member of St. Thomas Apostle Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Minor Martin Hamilton of Jackson, TN; a daughter, Meredith Hamilton Alley and husband David of Centennial, CO; a brother, Steve L. Hamilton and wife Sandy of Memphis and two granddaughters, Aurora Hamilton Alley and Augusta Hamilton Alley.
SERVICES: A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 23, 2021 at
St. Thomas Episcopal Church of Humboldt, TN.
The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Arrington Funeral
Directors from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
The family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to the Dr. Bruce
and Jan Hamilton Scholarship Fund c/o Antonio "Tony" Burns, 62 S. Dunlap, Suite
420, Memphis, TN 38163 or to St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church, 6 Warmath Circle, Humboldt, TN 38343.

To Jan and family:
I have just learned about the death of Dr. Bruce. He and you not only were my dental need providers but also my friends. I lost my wife Judy to kidney disease a year ago and I know what you are going through. I have many fond memories of my office visits to you accompanied by the birds chirping and classical music. All my prayers, love and condolences. I can't thank you enough.
