Charlie Coleman Obituary

Services for Charlie Green Coleman age 83 of Parsons TN will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday November 30 2004 at the Parsons First Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Bro. David Hawley officiating. Interment will be at Suttles Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Coleman died Monday November 29 2004 at Decatur County General Hospital after a long illness. He was a member of the Parsons First Cumberland Presbyterian Church World War II Veteran Life Member of the Parsons VFW a retired truck driver and a retired Decatur County School bus driver. Mr. Coleman was born July 23 1921 the son of the late James and Ella Miller Coleman. Enlisted in the USN in July 1942 served in the South Pacific with the 2nd Marine Division and Navy Cee Bees. Awarded medals for South Pacific Islands Asiatic Pacific Campaign. He is survived by two daughters Sharnell Woods and Henrietta McCorkle of ParsonsTN and one son Rick Coleman and wife Georganna of Decaturville TN; five grandchildren Karen Gordon Tommy of Lexington TN Melissa Box Chad of Portland TN Amanda Toschlog Eric of Greenville NC Shelley Redden Payton of Jackson TN and Nicholas Coleman of Decaturville TN; five great-grandchildren Trace Gordon and Rachel Gordon of Lexington TN Cade Box and Cullen Box of Portland TN and Ethan Toschlog of Greenville NC. He was preceded in death by his wife Lunell Bowman Coleman; two brothers Clyde Coleman and Zulas Coleman and one sister Lorene Quinn. Visitation will be Tuesday 9:00 a.m. until time for service. The family requests in lieu of flowers contributions be sent to Parsons First Cumberland Church of the Suttles Chapel Cemetery Fund. Parsons Mortuary 731-847-3441
