Mother Luberta Bonds

Jackson, TN - Services for Mother Luberta Bonds, age 76, will be Friday, May 25, 2012 at 4 p.m., at Deliverance House of Prayer. Burial will follow in DHP Memorial Gardens.

Mother Bonds died Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Jackson General Hospital.

Mother Luberta Bonds was born February 28, 1936 to the union of Ivie Bonds and Beatrice Hart-Bonds. She spent her early years as an honors student at Denmark/West School, and a featured vocalist in several musical groups. In her early adult years, she was a faithful employee at Sand's Florist and Oakley Fashion for several years.

Luberta is the mother of one son, Nathaniel Bond. For the last 33 years of her life, she served as Church Mother at Deliverance House of Prayer (Birthsite Location, 101 Huntersville-Denmark Road, Denmark, TN) and Light of Life Ministries (Central Location, 411 Fairmont Avenue, Jackson, TN), which were established under the founding and pastoral leadership of her son, Bishop Nathaniel Bond (Lady Norma Bond). She has been noted as a Prayer Warrior and Praiser. She was a featured vocalist on 2 nationally distributed recordings with featured songs, "Yes He Did" and "Pressing My Way".

She was truly loved and admired by her relatives, Light of Life Ministries, Deliverance House of Prayer Ministries, in the West Tennessee area and throughout the nation.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivie and Beatrice Bonds; brothers, Robert Bonds, Countee Bonds, Ira Bonds, Fred Bonds, and Jimmie D. Bonds; and sisters, Magnolia Carroll and Alma Ree Fuller.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Nathaniel (Norma) Bond; grandchildren, Marcia (Tim) Carroll, Acunda Bond, Nadine (Justin) Dudley and Nicole Bond; sisters, Beatrice (Walter) Peterson of St. Louis, MO, Mary Brint of Jackson, TN; brothers, James (Hazel) Bonds and Lofel Bonds of Jackson, TN, and Larnell (Sheryill) Bonds of St. Louis, MO; great-granddaughter, Taliyah Carroll; godson, Courtlin Taylor; a host of nieces, nephews, spiritual children and friends.

Visitation for Mother Bonds will begin Thursday morning from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., at Mercer Brothers Funeral Home. There will be a memorial tribute honoring Mother Bonds on Thursday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., at Light of Life Ministries. The remains of Mother Luberta Bonds will lie-in-state at Deliverance House of Prayer on Friday from 2 p.m. until time of service.
