Mark Steven Stewart

A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Mark Steven Stewart, age 57, will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015 in the chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home, with Bro. Mark McSwain officiating.

Mr. Stewart died Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

He was born in Jackson, TN to the late Maxie Stewart, Sr. and Betty Brown Stewart. He was a former machine operator at Ormet Aluminum and a member of North Jackson Baptist Church. Mr. Stewart was a member of the Jackson Elks Lodge where he was a Grand Exalted Ruler and served in various offices. He was a loving father, brother, son and grandfather.

Surviving are his daughter, Amy Strong and husband Hunter of Jackson; his sons, Brooks Tyree and wife Tracie of Nashville, and Evan Stewart and wife Shelly of Toone; brother, Maxie Stewart, Jr. and wife Gwen of Jackson; sisters, Beth Wilson and husband Randy, and Bonnie Chamberlain, all of Jackson; grandchildren, Benjamin Strong, Gracey Strong, Karley Strong, Noah Stewart and Madelyn Stewart, and loved by his many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

I remember Mark at North Jackson Baptist Church . My dad, Richard and I would pick him and Maxie, Jr. up nearly every Wednesday night. Good times at NJBC on Fairmont Street. Prayers for the family !! May his memories and Gods comfort be of great help !

I am so sorry to hear Mark passed away. He was a fine man. I went to JCM with him and always chatting with him in-between classes. I hope you find peace knowing that he is in a much better place--HEAVEN-my prayers are with his family!
