Dr. Stewart was my principal for many years when I was a student at West Jackson Elementary School. She taught me much about life. She would speak every morning and try to include a message every day. She really cared and you could tell. Thank you Dr. Stewart for leaving a lasting impression that will stay with me for life.

Thinking of Dr. Stewart makes me smile. She was one of the first people I met outside of my circle when I moved to Jackson. I loved her kind and helpful spirit mixed with passion for people and a great intellect. My prayers are offered now.

Dr. Maxine Stewart was a trailblazer in the field of education. She was an administrator, role model, and mentor who made a profound impact on the lives of her students inside/outside the classroom. As we honor her memory, I pray that the family will take comfort in knowing an angel is watching over them.
