Morris K. Lynch, Sr.
Funeral services for Morris K. Lynch, Sr., age 69 are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Lathams Chapel Baptist Church, 135 Lathams Chapel Rd., Milan, TN. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.. Burial will follow in Lathams Chapel Cemetery. The Reverend Bobby Keen of Lexington, TN will be officiating.
Mr. Lynch passed away late Thursday afternoon, June 30, 2011, at McKenzie Regional Hospital in McKenzie, TN, after a brief illness. He was born August 25, 1941, in Rutherford County, NC. He was the son of the late Montreville Kyle and Betris DeBrule Lynch of Gastonia, NC. His grandparents were the late Waldo Emerson and Cordie Coffey Lynch of Caroleen, NC, and Charles Morris Vesta Ledford Debrule of Forrest City, NC.
Morris is survived by his son, M. Kyle Lynch II (Amy), of Bell Buckle, TN; his former wife and friend, Louise Towater Lynch-Mills (Robert), of Memphis, TN; a brother, David Wayne Lynch (Vickie), of Oak Ridge, TN; brother-in-law Glen Towater (Liz), of Alpharetta, GA; sister-in-law, Rita Towater Rutherford, beloved mother-in-law, Mrs. Irene Towater of Medina, TN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Joseph Daniel Lynch of Waynesville, NC and Phillip Ward Lynch of Gastonia, NC.
Mr. Lynch grew up in Gastonia, NC. He attended Gardner Webb University and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Union University. He earned a Master of Arts Degree from Tennessee Technological University and did further studies at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Lynch taught Psychology for several years at Union University, and served as director of the Brownsville Counseling Center. His love of computers led him into the business world where he trained computer consumers and later was IT Systems Manager at a Manufacturing Company in McKenzie, TN.
Mr. Lynch loved woodworking and leaves many beautiful handmade furniture pieces for his loved ones. He enjoyed electronics and volunteered in the Tape Ministry at First Baptist Church while he lived in Jackson.
Pallbearers are: Trey Towater of Atlanta, GA; Matt Gay of Jackson, TN; Andy Gay of Jackson, TN; George Smith of Jackson, TN; Greg Blackmon of McKenzie, TN; and Jeff Dyer of Lexington, TN. Honorary Pallbearers are Robert Mills of Memphis, TN, Glen Towater of Alpharetta, GA, Grant Harrison of Memphis, TN, Gary Parrish, Tommy Harrington of McKenzie, TN and Dr. Randall Phillips.
