Raymond Brown Obituary

Graveside services for Mr. Raymond Nelson Brown Sr. 76 will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday June 2 2004 in Browns Cemetery with Ministers David Powell and Kelby Smith officiating. Burial will follow with Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Brown died Monday May 31 2004 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was born in Madison County son of the late Jody L. and Guy Eula Nelson Brown and was educated in the local schools. Mr. Brown was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WW II. He retired in 1990 after 43 years service as an equipment installer with ATT and Lucent Technologies. He was a member of North Jackson Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years Mrs. Peggy Johnson Brown of Jackson and to whom he was married on August 16 1947; seven children Raymond Brown Jr. and wife Shelia Joe Brown and wife Vickie all of Jackson Diane Moling and husband Robert of Luray TN Robert Brown and wife Cheryl of Phoenix AZ Susan Lowrence and husband James William "Charlie" Brown Chloe and Layla and John Brown and wife Sherry all of Jackson; nine grandkids and three step-grandkids; one great-grandchild and two expected; two sisters Bettye Veteto of Jackson and Margaret Redden of Franklin IN. Pallbearers to serve are Charlie Butler Ben Way Larry Kennon Jimmy Johnson John Verrell and Jerry Yarbrough. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. today at the funeral home.
