Bradley Johnson Obituary
ATTICA — Bradley "Brad" W. Johnson, 53, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 25, 2012, at 2:01 a.m. at the St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
Brad was born in Williamsport on August 22, 1958. He was the son of Georgia Pauline (Johnson) Johnson, of Williamsport, and the late Russell Warren Johnson. He was raised in Williamsport, graduating from Seeger High School in 1977. Brad has resided in Attica for the past 31 years.
Brad has worked as a lineman for Duke Energy for 28 years.
He had attended the Williamsport Christian Church. Brad was a member of the Moose Lodge 1482 of Attica and Sons of the American Legion Post 259 of Williamsport. He was known for his easy smile and socializing with friends. He loved the outdoors, especially riding his Harley, accompanied by his wife, Katie and friends. He enjoyed hunting mushrooms in the spring and boating in the summer. He enjoyed vacationing in the U.S. and abroad. More recently his passion was woodworking and ceramic work.
On May 31, 1990, Brad married Katie Covault in Attica.
Brad leaves behind his loving wife, Katie of Attica; his mother, Pauline Johnson, Williamsport; his children, Derik W. Johnson, Attica, Scott A. Voorhees, Noblesville, Melissa A. Simmons, Attica, Shelly "Pooh" Herndon, Veedersburg, and Chad A. Voorhees, Ft. Campbell, Ky.; his nine grandchildren, Kaylee Johnson; Andrew and Chris Voorhees; Chauncie "Naisy" and Dalton Simmons; Kayla Herndon; Dillon, Ryan and Richard Voorhees; his sister, Jill (Tom) Peterson, Williamsport; his niece, Megan Howard; great-niece, Madison Howard; and his pet Pomaranian, Victor.
Friends may gather at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Friday, June 1st from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. A celebration of Brad's life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 2nd at 11:00 a.m. with Jerry Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery, Williamsport.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bradley W. Johnson Scholarship Fund or the Attica Animal Shelter. The family has asked that all friends come in casual attire and all biker friends are welcome in their leathers. Condolences may be sent on line at www.mausfuneralhome.com.

Dearest Katie, It's been a long time since I have seen you and Brad, when I used to live in Attica. I will ALWAYS remember him as being so nice to me and his big hearty laugh!:) Someone once told me when my mom passed early in my life, that I will see her again, that it's a lifetime for us but a moment in time for them. My prayers go out to you and all of the family. God Bless! Roll on Brad!! You will be missed!

I was deeply saddened to hear of Brad's passing. You have lost a devoted husband and others have lost a great friend and old classmate.
A scholarship in Brad's honor will allow him to continue helping area youth for years to come. A great idea!

Katie, my heart is nroken for both Brad and Kaylee. She will miss her grandpa and I know she would have been so happy visiting and growing up with him as a guiding light. Brad will always be looking out and watching over you and the rest of the family now. I feel that I have been blessed knowing Brad and having something so wonderful in common with him, Kaylee.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of Brad from our many years of school at Williamsport and Seeger. He was a kind, fun and loving soul. Katie and family,
Brad was a great co-worker but most importantly he was a great friend. Brad never knew a stranger. His love for his wife and family was a true indication of what was most important in his life. Many memories were made over the.years with family and friends. May these memories be never forgotten.
