Brian McIntosh Obituary

Brian James McIntosh

Brian James McIntosh, 61, passed away in his home with his wife Kathy on Monday, February 15, 2021. Brian was born in Lafayette, Indiana on December 15, 1959 to parents Robert and Betty McIntosh. He grew up in Fowler and graduated from Benton Central High School in 1978. Brian went on to live in Monticello, Peru, and Lafayette. He worked for many years as a meat cutter and later in sales at Smith Office Plus.

Those that knew Brian know that he loved music. He enjoyed playing guitar, teaching guitar, and helping young musicians in the area. He loved camping and nights spent by the campfire. He treasured time with his family and friends, loved his dogs, and he could always tell a joke with a straight face.

Brian is survived by his wife Kathy, sister Angie Clark (husband Ralph), daughter Kelsey (husband Dan), son Robert, and stepchildren Michelle Engelder (husband Steve), Barb McGrew, Erin Nichols (husband Ryan), Jennifer Zile (husband Jordan), and Nicholas Lesher (wife Deanna). He is also survived by two grandchildren (Haisley and Merritt), numerous step grandchildren, three nephews (Kyle, Zach, and Alex Eberle), and many other loved extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Betty, and his brothers Kyle and Ken.

A Celebration of Life for Brian will be held on Sunday February 21st at 1pm at the American Legion Post 492(4929 N River Rd West Lafayette, IN 47906).

Our neighbor at the campground, loved lemon cheese cake. Just a good guy all around, an old hippie went to the same high school, different times. But old school, like me. Peace Brian.

Brian was one of the kindest and good hearted men I know. He was a wonderful and accepting step dad that will be missed more than he will ever know.
