Dan Noonkester Obituary
Dan Noonkester, 64, of Delphi, was called home on March 9, 2013, at 6:51 p.m. at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Dan was born on Dec. 28, 1948, in Pearisburg, Va., to the late Roy L. and Mary F. (Stump) Noonkester. He was a 1967 graduate of Francesville High School.
Dan served in the US Air Force, serving in Vietnam, Guam, Thailand and Taiwan.
He married Caryn Craig on July 27, 1985, at the Delphi United Methodist Church and she survives.
Dan was owner and operator of Dan's Body Shop in Delphi since Jan. 1, 1987. He had been employed as manager at Todd Crawford GM & Lahr Ford and was a Body Tech for Mann Chevrolet.
Dan was past president and member of the Delphi Lions Club; he was also a member of the Delphi United Methodist Church, Delphi American Legion, and the Delphi and Carroll County Chambers of Commerce.
Dan enjoyed fishing, traveling, camping, and especially spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends.
Along with his wife, Caryn; he is survived by sons: Darrel Noonkester (Tammy) of Delphi; Dustin Noonkester (Jennifer) of Bringhurst, and Brad Allen (Brooke) of Monticello; grandchildren: Zac, Courtney, Carson, Dagan, and Alena; great-grandchildren: Addyson and Brayden; a brother. He was preceded by his sister; and grandson, Brady.
Viewing will be at Davidson Funeral Home in Delphi on Tuesday, March 12, from 3-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services at the Church on Wednesday. Services will be at the Delphi United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. on Wed., March 13, 2013, with Pastor Todd Ladd officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens with military graveside rites by the Delphi and Camden American Legions and Delphi VFW.

I was sorry to hear of Danny's passing. He was part of a great class of kids, the Class of 1967. I will always cherish those days at Francesville, and having kids like Danny in my classes.
