David Bedel Obituary
Greensburg - David H. Bedel, 25, of Greensburg, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2017, at St. Francis Hospital in Greenwood with his wife and family by his side after battling cancer for 3 years.
David was born on March 18, 1992, in Greensburg to Thomas and Mary (Raver) Bedel.
David graduated from North Decatur in 2010 and then from Purdue in 2014 with a Bachelor's in Agricultural Engineering.
David worked for Bohman's Tree Farm, Fireside Inn, and Knecht Painting & Sales. He was currently working as a Controls Engineer at H&M Tool and Die in Greensburg.
He was a devoted member of St. Catherine of Siena-Enochsburg where he was also a CCD teacher and reader for the Church. David loved coon hunting, nature and the outdoors, and music. He was devoted to his family and one of the most important aspects of his life was his faith.
David married Claire Riehle on August 15, 2015, in Lafayette, IN.
He is survived by his wife Claire Bedel, Greensburg, his parents, Thomas and Mary Bedel, Enochsburg, 3 brothers, Fr. Dan Bedel, Terre Haute, Anthony (Kelly) Bedel, Greensburg, Joseph Bedel, Enochsburg, a sister, Anna (Craig) Angle, Rush Co., his niece/goddaughter, Isabella Bedel, nephew/godson, Zachary Angle, goddaughter, Olivia Hoeing, father and mother-in-law, Jim and Mary Riehle, Lafayette, three sisters-in-law, Mary Kate, Elizabeth, and Kristen Riehle, Lafayette, and brother-in-law, Joey Riehle, Lafayette.
David was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edmund and Virginia Bedel and Esther Raver, and his uncle/godfather, Jerome Bedel.
Visitation will be at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home on Friday, December 29 from 3 -8 pm. A Rosary will be prayed following visitation on Friday.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 am on Saturday, December 30 at St. Catherine of Siena -Enochsburg Fr. Dan Bedel and Fr. Bill Ehalt officiating.
Burial will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Enochsburg.
Memorial contributions in David's honor can be made to St. Catherine of Siena-Enochsburg, EWTN, in the form of a Mass, or by praying the rosary in David's memory.
