I am very sad to learn of Don´s passing. He and Dwila were my next door neighbors and dear friends since 1999 when we moved into the same subdivision in Alpharetta, Georgia. He and Dwila were both great friends and wonderful, generous souls. God bless them both! With love, Sheila

My life has been blessed by having known Don. In 1989, he hired me to be a pharmacist in the Purdue University Pharmacy, in spite of the objections of other faculty and staff. I learned so much from him about pharmacy and pharmacy business. He also was supportive of me as I went through family upheaval and tried to guide my son, Bill. Dwila and he even had us over for dinner on occasions. He told me of his earlier life about having no electricity and shared with me his love of authentic Polish sausage from northern Indiana. I am so glad he was able to spend his retirement years enjoying his family and grandchildren. Regrettably, I am unable to attend his services, but I offer the whole Bloom family my sympathies and prayers. May God's mercy grant Don eternal rest and peace with Him in heaven.

Best memory was a Purdue vs. IU football game at Purdue. So that made it a Bucket game. Went with Uncle Don and Uncle Howie. Cold day and I was pretty much flustered as I'm sure I was only about 10 or 11 years old. I do remember Aunt Dwila making us chicken parmesan for dinner. It was the first and only time I have had it, but I do remember that it was delicious.
